Job Description

The Regional Operations Manager is a high-profile leadership role responsible for the operational excellence, financial performance, and regulatory compliance of a designated portfolio of A&I Care Home facilities. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, your primary mandate is to ensure that our facilities deliver the highest standards of person-centred care while achieving corporate growth targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance: Lead, monitor, and audit facilities to ensure absolute compliance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) frameworks, aiming for "Good" or "Outstanding" ratings across all Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs).
  • Leadership & People Management: Directly manage, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for Care Home Managers. Oversee regional recruitment, retention strategies, and disciplinary procedures to stabilize staffing levels.
  • Financial Oversight & Commercial Growth: Accountable for regional profit and loss (P&L) statements. Drive occupancy levels, manage agency staffing spends, monitor regional purchasing budgets, and optimize fee structures.
  • Crisis & Incident Management: Serve as the escalation point for safeguarding issues, critical clinical incidents, and regulatory inspections. Lead comprehensive root-cause analysis investigations and execute rapid-turnaround action plans.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with Local Authorities, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), social work teams, and residents' families.

Person Specification

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven multi-site operations management experience.
  • Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership (or equivalent historical qualification). A nursing or clinical background (NMC registered) is highly advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Behavioural Traits: Exceptional emotional intelligence, decisive leadership under acute pressure, polished corporate presentation, and a relentless focus on clinical care standards.
