Accountant - UK Visa Sponsorship Available
Job Description
The Corporate Accountant will take full operational ownership of day-to-day accounting functions across our expanding care home network. Working closely with individual Care Home Managers and reporting directly to the Financial Manager, you will ensure that financial records are meticulously accurate, timely, and compliant with accounting standards.Key responsibilities include:
- Management Accounts Preparation: Produce comprehensive monthly management accounts packages for individual care home facilities, complete with detailed variance analysis against budgeted targets.
- Revenue Assurance & Billing Management: Oversee complex multi-funder billing pipelines, managing the reconciliations between private resident contracts, local authority funding, and NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) contributions.
- Balance Sheet Control: Maintain strict control over balance sheet accounts, performing complex monthly bank reconciliations, fixed asset register adjustments, prepayments, and accruals.
- Credit Control & Aged Debt Analysis: Review debtor profiles across the group, implement credit control policies, and support home managers in resolving complex fee-payment disputes.
- Statutory Submissions: Assist in the preparation of draft statutory financial statements, corporate tax documentation, and quarterly VAT submissions.
Person Specification
- Experience: 3+ years of experience working in a multi-site or high-transaction accounting environment. Experience dealing with local government funding structures is highly beneficial but not mandatory.
- Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant or an advanced finalist with all professional-level exams completed.
- Technical Skills: Deep practical proficiency in Xero, Sage 200, or NetSuite ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Behavioural Traits: Meticulous attention to detail, strong organisational skills to manage multiple deadlines, and proactive problem-solving capabilities.
